About Libby:

Elizabeth (aka Libby) is a specialist employment lawyer and part of our EMA Legal Team. She is based in the Napier branch office, which is the city she originally hails from.

Libby works with employers on all employment related issues, including terminations, separation agreements, disciplinary action, discrimination, drug testing and e-mail and internet usage policies. She also provides advice on a range of broader issues such as contractors' agreements, restraints of trade, protected disclosures and immigration.

Libby Brown is an experienced negotiator and advocate, who has managed employment cases and provided employment related advice to clients on behalf of law firms in Wellington, London and Germany. Working in three different legal jurisdictions has given Libby a broad range of experience, and exposure to clients across many industry sectors.

Libby was admitted to the bar in 1999. She joined EMA Legal in 2006 and has already appeared in the Employment Relations Authority and in two Employment Court cases - Nimon and Sons Ltd v Buckley and Southward Engineering Ltd v EPMU.
