About Ian

Ian has more than 20+ years experience in specialist corporate and consulting roles focussed on Human Resource and Employee Relations Management.
He is a strategic thinker with expertise in managing complex employment relationship issues in a wide range of enterprises. Ian adds value to strategic people initiatives with practical advice to help clients achieve their goals.
Ian is a skilled advocate and experienced negotiator who is able to represent clients in many areas including employment agreement negotiations, performance management, dispute resolution / mediations, restructuring and managed exits to name but a few. He has a reputation for good judgement and developing strategic responses supported with practical initiatives to address identified needs.
Ian's clients, both large and small, cover a diverse range of enterprises and can be found in health, service industry, IT, transport, maritime, manufacturing, and the engineering sectors in particular. Ian has considerable experience working in strongly organised workplaces and has spent many years working in complex rail / maritime restructurings and/or negotiations as well as with change and performance management initiatives.
Ian re-joined EMA in October 2007 where his work will revolve around employment issues with particular emphasis on employment agreements, bargaining, personal grievances, restructuring / dismissals and helping clients to ensure employment practices align with sound business strategy. Ian's previous roles include: - consulting with Greene Hanson (Empower / Right Management), Managing Consultant with the Employers and Manufacturers Association (EMA) and employment as the Industrial Relations& HR Manager for the Interisland Line.
