About Murray

Before becoming an Approved Provider Murray headed the Employee Relations Services team of EMA. He commenced employment with the Association in 1987 and became an Approved Provider in 2001. Prior to 1987 he held senior Human Resource/Industrial Relations management roles.

Murray has extensive experience in a wide range of employee relations activities such as negotiations, dispute resolution and restructuring. His emphasis is on strategic analysis, planning, communication and logistic management. He has also successfully represented employers in a number of key Employment Court, Labour Court and Employment Tribunal cases. He has represented employers on a number of international exchanges and at the ILO. In 2000 and 2001 he participated as a committee member in the development of the Good Faith Code for collective bargaining and continues this role as a committee member appointed under the Employment Relations Act 2000.

As an experienced professional, with substantial experience in the labour relations business, Murray has dealt with literally hundreds of disputes involving mediation and an equal number of employment contract/award/agreemen negotiations.
