Human Resources

The Human Resources team at ECCC is made up of six HR specialist consultants based in Wellington, New Plymouth, Napier and Gisborne.

While we specialise in HR issues a number of our team also have knowledge and experience in the employment relations field. The areas where we focus our specialist HR skills are in:

Remuneration – providing advice and assistance with the implementation of pay and reward systems. In this area of work we are able to provide up to date information on current market remuneration trends and levels.

Performance Management – assisting with the implementation of systems and strategies that will align employee performance and productivity to the strategic direction of the business.

Policy Development and the creation/refining of Employee Handbooks – our consultants are experienced in advising about, preparing and implementing policies/handbooks that are aimed at improving the performance of your people and the bottom – line of your business.

Performance Appraisal systems – team members are frequently involved in working with businesses to either implement a performance appraisal system where previously none existed; or revamping and improving current systems. An offshoot of this work could lead into our assiting you with succession planning, a very important aspect of your company’s growth and continued sustainability.

Recruitment – the cost of making a poor recruitment decision or getting the process wrong can be very costly. We can provide practical advice and assistance that will enable you to recruit the right candidate for your team.

Employee Culture Surveys – as an objective outsider, we are able to conduct employee surveys and analyse the data and put forward practical and useful information which could utlimately enhance and improve workplace communication, staff engagement and performance.

HR Assessments/HR Roadmap – Just where to start with addressing HR issues can be a difficult question. Our consultants can assist by conducting a comprehensive assessment of your practices, procedures and human resource systems and then provide advice and support to address the priorities.

Secondments – This is a part of our services where increasingly we are able to add value to our members. Often it can be difficult to provide the resource in-house to implement much needed HR initiatives. We can second one of our experienced HR consultants to your business for several weeks (or months) depending on your needs.
