About Us
EMA Central (Employers' and Manufacturers' Association, Central) is a member owned and managed organisation. We are dedicated to representing business and employer interests in all matters affecting enterprise operations, from Taranaki and Gisborne in the north, to Nelson in the south.
With the strength of numbers and the influence of a broad range of ideas and experience our members are a powerful voice in our community. Our members have a lot in common, regardless of their business or activity. Members come from all sectors and include large, medium and small companies, Local and Central Government, Maori enterprises, incorporated societies, associations, charities, hospitals and educational institutes from universities to schools. Around 2,000 enterprises are direct members. There is also provision for national membership for larger enterprises.
Every day we work with our members through the provision of a wide range of specialist advice and services for employment relations, health & safety, human resources, and employment law. We also offer a wide range of training for the full spectrum of business issues and needs.
Business NZ - the voice of business
EMA Central along with EMA Northern, Canterbury Employers Chamber of Commerce and the Otago Southland Employers Association fund and govern Business NZ to represent the wider interests of small, medium and large New Zealand enterprises.
Through a strategic alliance with Export NZ, Business NZ provides advocacy services and a strong focus on exporters’ needs, while events like the Export Awards, and other services are operated from the newly formed Export Divisions of Business NZ’s regional associations listed above.
