Entries open for 2010 Wellington Gold Awards
Now in it's twelfth year, the gold awards winners list reads like a who's who of Wellington business. The awards, supported by EMA Central, cover industry sectors including infrastructure, service, manufacturing, IT, exporting, and small business. This year the Global Award for exporters has been extended to two categories; service and products. There are also two best practice awards: for sustainability and workplace safety practices. Positive Year End For Service And Manufacturing Sectors
The service sector continued to show solid activity for the last month of 2009, according to the BNZ - Business NZ Performance of Services Index (PSI). The PSI for December stood at 54.4 and although this was 1.6 points down from November, it was the highest recorded December result since the survey began in 2007.

EMA Central (Employers' and Manufacturers' Association, Central) is member owned and managed organisation. We are dedicated to representing business and employer interests in all matters affecting enterprise operations, from Taranaki and Gisborne in the north, to Nelson in the south.
With the strength of numbers and the influence of a broad range of ideas and experience our members are a powerful voice in our community. Our members have a lot in common, regardless of their business or activity. Members come from all sectors and include large, medium and small companies, Local and Central Government, Maori enterprises, incorporated societies, associations, charities, hospitals and educational institutes from universities to schools. Around 2,000 enterprises are direct members. There is also provision for national membership for larger enterprises.
